To anyone who wishes to power scale early Dragon Ball properly, understanding how insane one of it's premier feats truly was is key.

Jackie Chun wind chopping Yamcha out of the ring is an absurd feat. Here's some real life examples from YouTube on a human's ability to resist the wind.

We see Goku is capable of resisting King Piccolo's wind chop in superior fashion to all of these videos. Then the first video is probably the next level, some movement occurring, but can continue on. Video 2 is a level where a full commitment is necessary, if you give in to the wind at all, it can send you flying a little bit, but you'll be able to recover. Video 3 is the maximum level we can withstand, barely handing on even with full commitment. The next level would be Yamcha getting flung by Jackie, but remember, he doesn't crash into the wall all that hard. Followed by the Chi-Chi feat where she actually takes some real damage hitting the wall and the wall is very far back.

Level 1 - Goku resisting King Piccolo
Level 2 Video 1
Level 3 Video 2
Level 4 Video 3
Level 5 Jackie Wind Chopping Yamcha.
Level 6 Chi-Chi wind Chop

Lol at the topic title

I guess with all the videos they're committing a lot to resisting it. They're all pushing with their legs and leaning forwards. Whereas Yamcha wasn't prepared at all and his weight wad held neutrally.

Didn't normal humans avoid being flung away by the wind of powerful blasts? Like the reporters at the Cell Games.

Is Goku vs Burter and Jeice one of these too?

Exactly. So Yamcha doesn't even get a chance to resist and he has no opportunity to catch himself. Do you see how there's several levels there? In Video 2, the guy goes airborne for a second, but he's able to catch himself quite easily.

Remember, what it takes to make you go up and fly a little is the first step to flight. To keep consistent flight speed requires another order of power to maintian.

Sure, but that would just mean the speed of the wind was less severe than here.

A kiai seems to operate under different rules. There's a difference between a kiai and literally punching the air or chopping it and sending people flying. Which is why this feat is so absurd.

How the heck is an air punch a demon technique? What is the quote? I haven't gotten up to the 23rd yet.

In the panel I read on Shonen jump Piccolo called it a move that "we Demon folks use" implying that it's a technique Kami taught him.
