Yamcha, the "cheater"

So, it's no secret that the reveal of Yamcha being unfaithful to Bulma comes pretty much out of left field, particularly in the manga. It seems inconsistent with how their relationship is shown to be and seems to be Toriyama's way of making Bulma sympathetic due to her presence within the plot. That said, however, would you put full stock in what Trunks was told or place scepticism on it? It certainly seems very possible for Bulma to lie in order to save face or even misinterpreted events involving Yamcha and his female fans, considering a guidebook at the time of the Piccolo Daimao Arc stated Bulma was the only female Yamcha was no longer nervous to be around and Bulma is quick to jump to conclusions.

Honestly, I'd rather if Yamcha really did cheat cause I find it pretty fucked up for somebody to spread lies and ruin one's reputation when the person in question is the blameless one.
