I heard how good this shit is... And judging from the two volumes I read, it seems it's worth the hype. I put it on hold on the second volume because I had other priorities, and the second volume wasn't as good as the first.

This is really starting to look like the new Berserk... Not nearly as good as prime Berserk, but you know.

It follows some Shonen troupes, but overall, it's really solid, and I recommend reading it if you haven't already.

It's good, but the Shonen troupes were unexpected, considering it's Seinen.

Is Kingdom good compared to Berserk?

It's still too early to tell. I only rated it that high initially because the first volume was extremely good, but hasn't been quite as good since, but it's picking up. If it keeps up the pace, I can see it being One Piece and Toriko tier good.

I've read the first 6 volumes now. The plot's fairly good, especially since I have a keen interest in Ancient Chinese military, plus the art seems similar to the series Souten Kouro (which in turn, is an adaptation of China's Three Kingdoms Era, roughly 300 years after Kingdom). The only problem I find thus far is the translation. The first volume had the era as AD rather than BC, whilst the fanslators keep switching between the correct Chinese names and their Japanese equivalents at the drop of a hat.

So far after reading the first couple of chapters I am hooked. Though I have to read a couple of more before I judge it truly and see if I drop it or not. It seems it is taking a darker approach

That's what I thought as well initially. However, I hear it gets far better later in the story. Where I'm at, the art is already a lot better.

Yeah, the art seemed to have a definite improvement for action panels around volumes 8 and 9, especially in the scenes where Qiang Hui (Kyokai) started fighting.

I just want to let everyone know since I completed Monster, I will continue Kingdom. I stopped after I finished Volume 10.
