The fact that they had traveled and gone through stuff together since the beginning of the story, whereas Chichi was almost literally someone Goku had just met.

It’s true to an extent, but AT really only thought of Goku literally growing-up as it happened because he found it too difficult otherwise & like I said that was the saga Chi-Chi was re-introduced in.
