Well if Rilldo is stronger than Kid Buu it's odd that he's saying that to Pan since she wasn't alive when Kid Buu was around. He could have said "Stronger than Uub." It implies there's a Buu not equal to Uub who is weaker than Rilldo that Pan would be familiar with. The only one she would know personally is Mr. Buu. Otherwise she only has hearsay to go on.

Uub was said to have Kid Buu's power, but having Kid Buu's latent power is not necessarily the same as being able to show that level of power. He could be as strong as Kid Buu, but being weaker than Kid Buu's true power is not entirely out of the question.

It's possible that Majuub > or = Kid Buu > base Goku(BoGT) ~ Uub(BoGT) > Rilldo > Uub(EoZ) Mr. Buu ~ Base Goku(EoZ) ~ Base Vegeta(EoZ).

Pan has most definitely heard the stories about Boo. She doesn't need to have met him personally to understand.

Was Goku talking to Pan? I thought he was saying it to himself. Like “Finally, someone as strong as my strongest enemy…”

This would mean Goku didn’t need SSJ against Redjic and maybe even Lood. It’s weird, but typical Toei.

He was putting himself between Rilldo and Trunks & Pan and speaking to Trunks and Pan.

Arguing Vegeta was equal to 18. The expected androids argument. Piccolo vs Cell. Colonel Silver losing to Mr. Satan.

Just to list a few off the top of my head. Just trying to figure out how you come to some of these conclusions. Too smart for some of these insane interpretations.

It’s not my fault the characters thought Vegeta and 18 were equals bro. Getting into a Vegeta vs 18 thread not expecting anyone to bring that up is crazy.

The expected androids bit was a misunderstanding lol. I thought P was going for 19 pre >> Yardrat Goku. And Silver? the featless tertiary character who got tail slapped into oblivion? Even if I’m somehow underestimating him, who even cares?

I don’t want to diverge from the thread and delve into any of these topics, but being mad that I’m bringing stuff to the table is baffling.

Not really. He says " Buu" in passing. "He's even stronger than Buu."
Yeah, like, Whoa even better than Buu. There’s respect on the name. He ain’t talking about Fat boy.

It’s not baffling GSM, he’s saying you got a lot of hot takes so you talking about people making hot takes is hypocritical.

Mr. Buu is a respectable power regardless. There is also the fact that Goku looked stoic rather than flabbergasted, which could downplay the ranking he was giving. He wasn't like "oh my lord! He's even stronger than Buu!! Guhh.. *trembles*"

Well Goku has surpassed Buu in base state a while back. Put it this way, “He surpasses my previous villain” has a lot more narrative than “He surpassed my buddy”

Surpassing someone is typically villain oriented.

Yeah well there are always exceptions to typical things.

Just saying it could be either past or current Buu judging only from Goku's quote. I'll have to try different GT scales to see which is more accurate.

I’m saying prima facie, or, at face value, when he says that it makes me think Kid Buu. That’s what I find to be most likely.

I’d like to see your scales. Any interpretation works depending on these variables:

1) Is SSJ 50x or 2.5x?
2) How does Vegetto scale in GT?
3) Is Kid Boo filler valid here?

I'm not mad at all lol. I appreciate that you bring different angles to some topics for sure. But it's strange to find it odd how people compare Dabura/suppressed Cell, and also to find it odd how people come up with a 2.5x multiplier in GT. These are things that have direct evidence going for them. It's more baffling that you don't understand these things.

So the way that I see it is by following the manga. GT might be a Toei product but I don't see why that means it must follow the anime. You can make the argument that move villains show up in GT, but that doesn't mean that the base of the story can't follow the manga. After all, the movie villains weren't in the anime either...

Anyway, Goku at EoZ is very close to Kid Boo level in Base. He does dedicated training with Oob for 5 full years. A portion of that would have been spent teaching Oob the basics, but there's no doubt they exceeded that level by a good margin by the BoGT. I think the placement here is arbitrary, but I usually go with Base Goku = SSJ Gotenks post or in that ballpark.

Base Goku is then roughly on par with Redjic, but far ahead of him with SSJ.

So we get SSJ Goku (Imegga) > Redjic ~ Base Goku (Imegga) = Oob BoGT

Level 3 Lood is then too strong for Goku to take down. So Lood > SSJ Goku (Imegga). By the time they reach M2, Goku says the Mega Cannon Sigma are the strongest that he's met in a long time. You can take that as you will, but given the time span they were traveling in space, it could be referencing Lood's power. They fused into the Super Mega Cannon Sigma who were outclassed by Base Goku. Rild finally comes along and only then does Goku say that Boo has been surpassed. And Goku was ahead of Base Rild in Base...

Base Goku (M2) >~ Base Rild >> Super Mega Cannon Sigma > Sigma Squad ~ Lood Lv 3 > SSJ Goku (Imegga) > Redjic ~ Base Goku (Imegga) = Oob BoGT

Even if you assume that BoGT Oob was only Kid Boo level, there's not much way to look at this aside from Rild being stronger than Gohan Boo. If it's referencing Kid Boo, how do we make sense of all of the gains that Goku made in space, when he was already starting at Kid Boo level who was the strongest in the anime. It seems to me that GT is following the manga in this regard.

Furthermore, the GT Perfect Files make it clear that Gohan in this universe did not become soft like he did in Super. He regained Super Saiyan and there's no indication that he lost the power he got from the ritual, which in the original manga is not treated like a form but a permanent level of power. Base Gohan was not fodder to Rild until his arm was metalized. He was undoubtedly weaker, but he was strong enough to repel Rild's attack and counter attack early in the fight. If we assume Gohan continued training and got stronger as the Perfect Files say, it all adds up.

Rild > Gohan Boo >/> GT Base Gohan > Boo arc Gohan

Gohan looked like a similar gap away from Rild that he was from Gotenks Boo imo.

Long post, but that's my basis for everything.

The anime keeps Goku's line about saying someone other than them(he an Vegeta) or Buu might win. With Kid Buu as the strongest Buu, this becomes a contradiction if you have base Goku near to that level, as he should be so far ahead of Buu that Buu couldn't possibly win. Goku Groupons himself, Vegeta, and Buu as potential winners of the tournament means that the gap between them all is close enough that it could go any of three ways.

if you have base Goku stronger than Buuhan then you'd have to give Mr. Buu a power up to make sense of that. Or base Goku isn't nearly as strong as Kid Buu and closer to Mr. Buu, and Uub only had limited access to Kid Buu's power level.
