It’s delusion, similar to how 2nd form Cell still thought he could beat Super Vegeta.
What evidence do you have that it's pure delusion? Why can't he just be underestimating Goku as the story indicates?
Bro was shitting bricks after witnessing Blue get one shotted, he ain’t doing that without his mech.
100%. I get that. But why can't you see the next step. Why can't it be this.
Premise 1: Black acknowledges Tao > Black
Premise 2: Black indicates Black > Blue
Like, it feels like you aren't realizing that just because Tao easily manhandled Blue, doesn't mean Black can't also defeat Blue easily either.
Black cannot defeat Blue AS EASILY as Tao can, but he can still defeat Blue easily.
These things do not contradict each other.
We can have what the story indicates which is this.
Premise 1: Tao >> Blue
Premise 2: Tao > Black
Premise 3: Black > Blue
Conclusion: Tao > Black > Blue
As the story spoonfeeds to us. Tao easily defeating Blue doesn't somehow contradict the idea that Black can't easily beat him either. We just know Tao can do it much easier than Black can.
He doesn’t have an answer to paralysis either, it worked on Goku and Roshi, we can assume it’ll work just as well on Black.
Nothing wrong with this line of thinking. Blue's paralysis is legit goated. Bro is a problem. He can paralyze you and then without too much effort maintain it. It's honestly one of the best techniques in Dragon Ball ever.
That being said, the question OP is asking is how strong is Black. Blue may indeed defeat Black from help with his paralysis, but paralysis wouldn't negate the strength advantage Black seemingly possesses over Blue.
