The manga version of the Zamasu arc sucked dick.

It was almost as bad as the anime, honestly.

Zamasu deciding to steal Gokuu's body without meeting him first was dumb. Of all the people whose body he could've stolen, he randomly decides on some guy he only heard about a day or two ago. At least in the anime, Gokuu humiliated Zamasu in front of his master Gowasu by beating him in their sparring match. Him wanting Gokuu's body makes more sense when it's a personal grudge. I mean, don't get me wrong, I know Zamasu didn't really have any personal grudge against Gokuu (he just hated all mortals), but him stealing Gokuu's body makes more sense if he actually experienced his power firsthand.

SS2 Vegeeta being several times stronger than SS3 Gokuu was nonsense.

SS1 Gokuu Black was completely unnecessary, and him surpassing SSB Vegeeta was stupid.

Trunks having healing powers was fucking stupid and it's absurd how fodder Toyotaroh made Trunks in this arc. SS Rage and even the Genkidama Sword were better than this.

Gokuu having SSB Perfected up his sleeve the whole time negated the entire purpose of him needing to fuse with Vegeeta again.

Gokuu randomly knowing Hakai was stupid.

Having Trunks, the titular character of the saga, stay on the sidelines just healing and buying time was stupid. It's just so pathetic when Trunks says he's going to protect his world even after Zamasu killed everyone and turned the planet into a wasteland... Like bro what are you even fighting for?

Vegeta even scolds Trunks for being too weak to protect Earth. Such a pathetic ending for the character... At least the anime gave Trunks a power up and some fights.

Zamasu is looking for the strongest body possible. That's why he initially switches with Monaka. All he knows is that these guys are impossibly strong. He literally heard it all from Kaioshin and Kibito, remember? What's he going to do, take Goku out on a date and get to know him before he swaps bodies? Ginyu swapped bodies with Goku in less than an hour.

Gotta disagree here. Trunks is way out of his league, although he made an impressive showing considering how far he's gotten on his own. But there's just no way for him to keep up without having a God forms or something on par with God forms. The Super Saiyan Rage stuff never made any sense in the anime.

At least SSJ Rage allows Trunks to be relevant to the story and fight Goku Black.

Zamasu is looking for the strongest body possible.
He has no reason to think Gokuu is the strongest person in the multiverse.

He has no reason to think Gokuu is the strongest just because Shin and Kibito mentioned him, nor does he have any reason to think Gokuu or Monaka are the strongest based on some GodTube footage (and the fact he thought Monaka was strong is uncharacteristically retarded of him. Gotta give the anime props for leaving out this stupid gag). He could ask Super Shenlong to switch his body with Zen'oh's. He could ask to switch bodies with the strongest person in the multiverse, whoever that may be. Or he could just wish to be the strongest person in the multiverse and not switch with anybody.

No, there's not any reason he should want Gokuu's body when he can literally wish for anything else.
What's he going to do, take Goku out on a date and get to know him before he swaps bodies? Ginyu swapped bodies with Goku in less than an hour.
Ginyuu switched bodies with Gokuu because he and his men were ordered to eliminate anyone opposing Freeza on Planet Namekku. He couldn't defeat Gokuu by overpowering him, so he defeated him by stealing his body instead. Completely different scenario; Ginyuu actually experienced Gokuu's power firsthand, and he didn't have much of a choice, anyway. Zamasu literally had infinite choices, and he decided on some random person he didn't even know existed until a few days ago. That's the primary issue here. It's stupid in the anime as well, but the manga makes it worse by not even having Zamasu experience Gokuu's power beforehand.

Nothing on GodTube suggested Gokuu was the strongest being in the multiverse.
Goku blew a hole through Vados shield for the tourney.

Zamasu saw Goku’s insane power what is you on boy lol

He is not stated to be the strongest person in the multiverse and anyone who isn't retarded realizes Monaka is weak as shit.
He’s stated to be the strongest fighter in the universe of the strongest god. You tripping

That doesn't make Gokuu the strongest being in the multiverse. What is you on?

At the end of the day, he's only from Universe 7, and he was fighting people from Universe 6. There could very well be people from any of the other 10 universes who are stronger. Hell, Gokuu wasn't even stronger than Hit.

No reason to ask to steal Gokuu's body when he could simply ask to steal the body of the most powerful mortal in the multiverse. Why does it even have to be a mortal? Why not just steal Zen'oh's body? Why even bother with stealing bodies at all when he can just wish to make himself the most powerful being in the multiverse?

He’s stated to be the strongest fighter in the universe of the strongest god. You tripping

He was crying his eyes out when he fought Hit, who clearly threw the fight. And no, Birus isn't the strongest god. The other Hakaishin are all relatively close to him. At least Quitela matches him. Stop capping.

I liked how in the anime, Future Trunks wanted to know where Gohan was after returning to the past. Gohan was the strongest the last time Trunks showed up, so you'd think he'd want to see him as soon as possible. But Trunks never asks about Gohan in the manga; they only meet in a bonus mini-chapter released after the arc had already ended. Sure, I disliked Gohan being revealed to have been slacking off again after he vowed to train following the Golden Freeza arc, but at least the anime brought him up. I liked Trunks and Gohan's final goodbye in the anime, too.

Overall, the Zamasu arc is a trainwreck regardless of which version you go with; the anime is more memorable yet sillier, whereas the manga is more coherent yet more forgettable. Future Trunks and Gokuu Black were more memorable in the anime, for sure. That said, the manga definitely handled Vegett better; his stomping of Fused Zamasu was more impressive in the manga.

Honestly, the manga should've at least let Trunks kick more ass. That White Mage healing shit was just garbage. Should've replaced Mastered SSB Gokuu with Trunks getting a big power-up and kicking Merged Zamasu's ass.
