Yeah, this is one of the problems with the movies. Either you can do Genki-Dama or do a non-canon transformation (Movie 4 & even that didn't end the fight) or Kaio-Ken x????. They most likely could have gone with non-canon transformation in hind-sight.

You know can someone ask what Mr. Koyama meant by Cooler saying normal Goku could defeat Freeza in Movie 5 & also why SSJ Goku could own 5th form Cooler so easily when he couldn’t 100% Freeza?

Maybe. Gohan was already way-ahead of everyone. This is movie time-line so it doesn’t matter if Gohan > SSJ Goku.
