A battle of canonicity

What do you consider to be more canon, the new content (new movies, Super, interviews) or the Daizenshuu?

My vote goes to the Daizenshuu. While it has many flaws, it doesn't compare to the new garbage.

I don't have a problem with anything being part of the canon. There is tons of anime that makes sense that adds to the story, not just filler. I don't see the need to be so strict, but at times yes, the manga is above all.

Not only is Super made years after the Manga, Toriyama has nothing to do with it.

Personally I consider the movies/Super to be canon over the Daiz.

I only follow the Daizenshuu when it comes to movies, or the dates and ages, that's about it. I try not to use it in manga debates because then I'd be forced to nitpick.

I don't consider anything from the new material canon.

Super has a lot of cool things. Some are ridiculous. Just with anything other than the anime, whatever makes sense and sounds good I go with, if it's crazy like Freeza > Base Goku, then there's no way I can use that because it's absurd.

Yeah, I just thought you meant the Super Anime for a moment. I'd rate the Super Manga the same as the original Manga, give or take.

Ya never know man. There is plenty of Super left to change our opinions. Maybe the U6 stuff will be some of the best dbz material we've seen in a long while. At the least, I think it's fair to say we've been waiting for that storyline way more than the others.

If it is some of the best DBZ material, it'd be safe to expect it to be the best in the Super Manga. Toei is bastardizing Toriyama's name and he's not doing anything about it. I'd be pissed.

I consider Super and the new movies more valid than the Daizenshuu at least. I ultimately don't consider any of them canon though.

I don't consider Super canon to anything but itself. The Daizenshuu can at least aid in movie debates, though I don't use it much for manga discussions.
