So I was looking at the Goku vs Beerus fight in English and I noticed something at the climax of their fight. When Goku was pushing back Beerus' attack he reverted from SS to what people may assume was his base form. But if you pay attention to detail you would notice that Goku had still kept his Super Saiyan hair but it was still black while pushing back the attack.

It's interesting because it's similar to the promotional image of Goku for the current arc that we got where his hair had a similar look (It's very likely a new transformation)
This would explain some things, such as how Goku was able to push back that attack in his Base but wasn't able to while in Super Saiyan.
And the final clue is the conversation Goku had with Beerus at the end of their fight (It's at the end of the video I showed) about how he shouldn't underestimate his LIMITS, which is the theme of the current arc and is possibly connected to his new transformation.
Did Goku unknowingly tap into this reserve of power?
