Admiral Ryokugyu easily stomping Kaido's commanders

Does that mean the admirals are simply way above that commander tier? I thought the commanders could put up a good struggle against an admiral, but it seems not.

Well they did just recently get their asses kicked. Marineford showed that the Admirals were above commanders, but not the degree that Ryokugyu beat them. His devil fruit might just be that strong.

They had 7 days to recover, similar to Luffy. Luffy recovers in 3 days or so.

It's tough to make a call without the context. Luffy has abnormal recovery abilities and it's also possible that the winners would recover faster. We also only see King/Queen in their base forms which raises questions. I see several possibilities:

1. King/Queen were not full power.
2. King/Queen are weaker than Whitebeard's commanders
3. Ryokugyu's fruit is overpowered against zoans, maybe not as much against people like Marco
4. Ryokugyu is above the other admirals
5. All admiral's power havr been retconned

Luffy has had ridiculous recovery abilities (presumably) because of the true nature of his devil fruit the whole series. No one else recovers that fast. Zoro in particular has carried injuries into the next arc multiple times.

I'm just saying it's possible. It's also possible the Admirals are just stronger now after the timeskip.
