hapter: 371 (DBZ 177), P6.4
Context: before No.16 goes to fight first form Cell
No.16: “According to my calculations, my power is about equal to Cell’s.”

What do you think?

Viz doesn't have 16's statement as definitive enough as it have Herms'. In full colored manga we get that Android 16 says that they (Cell and him) are almost even in strength, without saying which one of the two is actually stronger.

I have:

Android 16: 95 - 98
Imperfect Cell: 100
Semi Perfect Cell (initial): ?

I am reconsidering my mind about tanking gaps not being that great. But, I think was more practical to have Android 16 and Imperfect Cell as equals, however (even though it wouldn't change much), this would serve to minimize the gap in between Imperfect Cell and Semi Perfect Cell (initial)., so it's a double-edged sword.

I've them as absolute equals. All translations serve basically to showcase they're overall the same power and that if there's a difference, it's not noticeable at all. They're virtually identical

I think most people like to give Cell a very small edge, but if I had to give someone a slight edge, it'd be 16. They first stalemate each other using their bodies weight, and then Cell punches and tries absorbing 16... Once seeing it's useless, 16 grabs his tail and takes it off. But to no avail either, as Cell can regenerate. Then 16 misses his kick, Cell punches him away twice and then 16, struggling, punches Cell away with his flying fist... And capitalizes that opportunity to throw Cell on the ground like a sack of potatoes and use his hell zone attack, which, admittedly, hurt Cell, but not noticeably.

I think 16 got the better of the exchange since he actually managed, although barely, to hurt Cell and forced Cell to sneak on 17 and absorb him instead of keeping the fight. Maybe you could argue Cell was caught off guard by 16's ability of the flying fist, but that's part of 16's power. Overall, both manage to punch each other away and shake up each other, but 16 optimises that opportunity better by using his special attack.

But if there's a difference, it's very minimal. It isn't worthwhile at all. For simplicity's sake, I think the best approach is to keep both exactly equal. And then I have initial Semi Cell holding a 1.5x advantage over 16, more or less the same advantage holding back Goku held over the Ginyus, which fits to me in the "total stomp" category and don't bloat things too much

Kamiccolo/17 : 500,000,000
Cell/16 : 750,000,000
Semi Cell (initial) : 1,125,000,000
-- FP : 1,350,000,000

Super Vegeta stomped Cell, however that seems a category below that super stomp with few shots like Goku Vs Ginyus, Imperfect Cell post humans Vs Piccolo and initial Semi Cell Vs 16, or warming up Cell Vs Super Vegeta... So I take a note below the gap and put it at 1.3x

Vegeta SSJG2 : 1,755,000,000

And then initial Perfect Cell would have the usual 1.5x lead over Super Vegeta

Perfect Cell [Vs vegeta] : 2,632,000,000

And then I like to think 50% MSSJ Goku is more or less on even grounds with initial Perfect Cell, which is a good range for Goku as both makes Vegeta seem hopeless and it fits with ppl buying in Goku's words of not being able to beat Cell while initially thinking his 50% was his full and asking what is Goku's plan B... And also fits with Cell's reserve Vs Goku being the same amount Goku held back when showing his power vs Karin, both sitting at around 50% of their showcased power Vs each other.

Btw yeah I got carried away and went way beyond the simple topic.

Agree with Ahill. They’re the same, if anyone is better it’s 16, but by 1-2%.

I have Semi Cell 1.33x stronger. Same as Recoome over Vegeta, enough to absolutely destroy your opponent and even tank them.

I think Imperfect Cell (Post Human) was slightly superior to #16, but #16 has a bit of an amplified attack and that's why it outclassed Cell.

I can agree that 16 was more dominant during the fight with Cell and that Cell needed to avoid the fighting absorbing 17 in the process. But, Cell would've clearly lost had the fight continued because of the fact that he didn't have unlimited stamina, unlike 16.

I still keep my mind about 16 being slightly weaker than Cell, though.

@GreatSaiyaman123

You think a 1.33 gap is enough to one-shot someone like Semi Cell did with 16? I think at the very least a 1.5 gap is needed to do that.

Androids can’t amplify.

Isnt 1.33x Vegeta/Semi cell gap. At that gap enemy should be able to make you bleed and lose footing

What the hell? SSJ Goku couldn't even tank 50% Frieza's death beam the way Initial Semi Cell took Android 16's punch. Recoome withstood Vegeta's attacks with cosmetic damage at best but he was still tossed around like a rag doll.

How powerful is Android 19 (Post) compared to SSJ Vegeta?
