I can't comment about the FnF stuff but the Black story isn't something that was copied 10/10 but it was improvement idea from Toriyama and executed much better for something Toei couldn't do.

Super #17 is the only thing that was copied 10/10. Baby arc is actually an improvement from Hatchiyack's OVA, and the Shadow Dragons is an original, but badly executed concept.

Goku Black is a walking time travel paradox, Zamasu is a typical Saint Seiya type villain without much development, they are so incompetent that they let the heroes escape twice, there is a whole bunch of asspulls, as well as a crappy ending...not what I call "executed much better".

Goku Black is a walking time travel paradox, Zamasu is a typical Saint Seiya type villain without much development, they are so incompetent that they let the heroes escape twice, there is a whole bunch of asspulls, as well as a crappy ending...not what I call "executed much better".

I said in DB's terms therefore that makes Zamasu and Goku Black looks original compared to the other villains of the story. The Baby arc is the only thing I agree but the rest are trash and poor execution. Black Star arc is a poor version of early DB, Super 17 is shit compare to the original ultimate Android i.e, Cell. The SD arc is a fresh idea but the fights are complete copied from Boo arc.

The first two arcs were literally and by definition, rehashed and unoriginal. The multiple universe/tournament idea is also unoriginal (Multiverse predates Super by like seven years) and an "evil Goku" concept has been a staple of sloppy fanfiction since fanfiction began. :elmo

I disagree with calling it original just because it hasn't been done before in DB. Vermoud's design was never done before, but it's clearly not original (Pennywise...). And even then, a villain stealing Goku's body has been done before.

With such a reasoning, U6 arc is a poor version of Dragon Ball's original tournament arcs. The only difference is the scale of the tournament...but it's also the case for Black Star compared to early DB.

GT was intentionally started as a "new" rehash of early Dragon Ball. They wanted to return to the feeling of adventure and light-heartedness. Then it didn't work and they changed tone quickly.

I don't. Despite all of the issues with Super I've still enjoyed it to an extent. Far more enjoyment than I ever had with GT.
