Are there any differences between Return of Freeza (RoF) and Super's arc?

Of course the series must be more fleshed out, but besides that? Do they contradict each other? Do they have fights go down differently? Do they give a different image of how battle powers line up, how the world of DB works or about the thoughts or personality of the characters? Or even something like different visual designs?

Besides the anime having terrible visuals and stretching the story into several hours:
- Shows Vegeta convincing Whis to train him and how the Saiyans got SSJB. The training segments are the only good thing about this saga. We got nothing of that in the movie, but Toriyama said Goku went first, while here Vegeta went first.
- Tagoma lives and becomes Freeza's training partner (We never saw Freeza's training in the movie). He takes Shisami's role as the strongest soldier and stomps everyone (Unlike Shisami who was = Piccolo).
- Gotenks shows up for a nut joke and defuses right away.
- Ginyu shows up and steals Tagoma's body.
- Base Goku vs 4th form Freeza lasts like, 2-3 episodes and it's an even fight (In the movie Goku shits on Freeza). It's so long Vegeta gets pissed and attacks Goku, wasting even more time on a mini Goku vs Vegeta.
- In the movie Sorbet attacks SSJB Goku. In the anime, he attacks base Goku and there's no blood.

I'm pretty sure there's slice of life filler with Piccolo babysitting Pan. And I almost forgot that Piccolo dies, he takes a death beam for Gohan before Goku and Vegeta arrive. Worst death in the series.

One of the dumbest things the anime did was require SSJ Gohan to exhaust himself so Goku could sense him. Meanwhile, Freeza is a powerhouse right there with his ki blazing. The movie got that part right, Goku should sense Freeza and teleport easily to his location because of his massive strength.

Reading this reminded me of how fucking terrible the first two arcs of the anime were. Thanks for bringing this trash back to my memory.

I never even watched the anime adaptations because I knew that at best it would be the same plot but 3x longer. My whole post came from reading the DB Wiki :troll

Gohan, Piccolo, Kurilin, Tenshinhan, and Roh-shi all needed to power up for Gokuu to come back to Earth in the movie.
