Would you say the Baby arc can solo super as far as quality goes?

Besides, how do you view this arc in general?

It's still as boring as sin until Vegeta gets possessed, not to mention it contains incredibly shitty writing like Galu only turning SSJ2 for a brief moment against Rild to drag out the fight, Gohan-Baby trying to kill Piccolo when that would ruin his plan among other things. The Sugoroku space filler is also a good thing to show your worst nemesis so he will suicide afterwards :troll

It's still the best arc in GT, and better than most Z fillers but it's still nothing to write home about. There were some highlights like Galu turning SSJ4, but it also had him dicking around like a fool until Baby had the opening to turn Golden Oozaru, the whole blasting your enemy into the sun cliche being used AGAIN, Vegeta and Gohan forgetting that they can turn SSJ2, Baby's motivations being pretty poor with how he wants to kill Goku rather than Vegeta, along with a ton of other idiocy like Baby failing to execute Gohan and the others when he stomped SSJ3 Galu. Not to mention the infamous Dende and Popo scaring Kibitoshin scene... :troll2

As Kenshi said, it's still an arc riddled with plot holes. Comparing it to Super's arcs, however, it may as well be a 10/10 with it actually having some good ideas such as what SS4 means in terms of being the answer to a Saiyan's primal rage given self-control and direct ties into previously established content such as the Tsufurians. It's a shame that such good ideas had poor execution, since Baby's somewhat sympathetic revenge plot loses any philosophy behind it when it amounts to him mind-controlling people and the depth SS4 could've had gets squandered by it being treat as just yet another power up rather than the philosophical counter to Baby's ideals given form. Pretty bad arc, but still by far the best of GT and leagues above the best content in Super.

This part actually makes sense. Sure, Baby was made with the DNA and memories of the Tsufurian King, but Vegeta is just the child of the one who slew him and it's arguable how much the king's memories affect Baby's personality beyond his main motivations. Meanwhile, Galu acted as far more of a direct threat to Baby's current goals with him constantly foiling his plans in space.

Trunks foiled just as many of his plans and he was content with just mind-controlling him, so it's more or less the Broly situation with KAKAROTTO!! over again in my opinion.

Even so, it was made pretty clear to Baby that Galu was the powerhouse of the trio and, thus, the one he had to focus on most, with Trunks and Pan being easy pickings as early as him gaining Gohan's body.

I don't really see how that'd make his conflict with Goku more personal than destroying the son of the king that wiped out his people. Not to mention unlike Goku and Trunks who may have Saiyan blood but were raised on Earth and didn't benefit from the massacre of his people, Vegeta was the prince of the Saiyans.

I think Baby was content making Vegeta his personal bitch, ensuring a long torture, rather than killing him off and ending his suffering like he planned with Goku.
