Bad anime that had one arc that made it worth it?

Have you seen anime that weren't all that, but they had one arc that made watching it worth it?

For me it's Ghost Hunt. It's a horror shoujo and the majority of it is uneventful and at best slightly creepy, but the penultimate arc (bloodstained labyrinth, eps 18-21) is genuine A-grade horror material. Fucking blood-curdling. I ended up not even watching the final arc because that one had scared me too much.

I've not seen the anime for either, but for manga I'd go with Golden Kamuy and The Promised Neverland. Golden Kamuy was really solid for around 100 chapters or so, then it completely lost the plot and devolved into cringe unfunny jokes and just completely derailed. The Promised Neverland had some of the most tense action I can recall in the first arc. It sadly devolved into a typical shonen that became so predictable that it ruined the entire manga. Fuck that manga.

What's Golden Kamuy about? The anime's quite big online.

I've not bothered continuing with Promised Neverland (apparently season 2 of the anime's much worse than the manga), super disappointing to find a promising and unique series and then it fucks itself up. My friend likes horror stuff and I was telling him to watch it, but yeh glad he didn't lol. I wonder if it happens because the author runs out of ideas, gets lazier or because they don't have time to plan things out properly when writing for a weekly/monthly magazine.

Basically a Japnese soldier from the Russia/Japanese war that quits the army and tries to find a massive amount of hidden gold to fund someone's operation. There end up being several factions competing for the gold. Was really solid for the first arc or two.

Yeah I don't really know about TPN. Maybe it's hard to keep writing a story with that much tension in it. How can you continually one up that first arc? It kind of set itself up to fail in that regard.

InuYasha’s Seven Man Band comes to mind.
