They don't, Gohan was rusty and put of shape and Vegeta was tired from training. The kids are not impressive according to Goku. They are weaker than the Saiyans by a large degree. Even their Post rosat selves struggle with the Cell Jrs. CG Goku would never struggle with Cell Jrs.

Their feats against Gohan and Vegeta wouldn’t be possible with multifold gaps and Gohan would have no reason to fear being outstripped while being several times stronger than Goten.

Not sure where this Cell Jr. stuff is coming from. I’m speaking strictly on the manga/canon here. The only relevant feat I can think of with Cell Jrs is Piccolo faring almost as well as Vegeta and Trunks did against them which no Boo saga base Saiyan could do.

I do think that Base Adults > Piccolo, but I also agree with Piccolo > Base Kids, but only by a small margin. It seems like a good middle ground for the kids, because Gohan was only sparing with Goten, Piccolo came out dominant after Bootenks became Booccilo, and they were giving #18 a hard time in the battle suit.
