When's the last time you watched Beyblades, or ripped out an actual Beyblade?

Parent picking kid up from school got a beyblade launched at their eye. Just banned in my school.

Watched the original and the Metal Saga a long time ago. The format is what you would expect from an action Shonen - battle, training, rivalry, bonds, obstacles, etc. just channeled through spinning tops and the beasts associated with them. The beasts are based on a variety of different mythos, and have a connection with its owner (i.e. when the beast receives heavy damage or the blade starts cracking, the trainer better watch out). The Metal Saga also had a central focus on constellations, which picked up more steam during the Nemesis Crisis.

I watched the show a little and I played a couple of the video games. I would say I liked Beyblade more as a child and I liked Yu-Gi-Oh! more as a teenager.

Also I went to a school friend's house when I was 9 or 10 after school. Beyblades came on and he got really excited and started ripping a beyblade across the room while jumping around. I stood out the way and apologised to God for my sins (not really, but I was like fuck this crazy guy's gonna hit me. Though I get the excitement - I probably did similar for other shows openings). I saw on Facebook he's still into anime and now also Tokusatsu shows, studied Japanese Studies and lived in Japan. I think I had Mcdonalds Fish Fillet burger on the way to his house, in his parents' car, or at least we talked about Fish Fillet lol (his dad said they can only get that same burger too. Different religions, but both with the same result of not eating the other Maccies stuff. Also I just checked Facebook and he unfriended me at some point, wtf. Though I haven't spoken to him for 20 years tbf and I don't even have a profile photo any more. Says he's neurodivergent, which I didn't know but it doesn't surprise me).

OG Beyblade, v force and g revolution were my favorites, I don’t know any of the newer series.

I had a bunch of beyblades from that era.

Me and a few friends used to play with these. Never really watched the anime.
