It was also revealed that Blackbeard hasn't slept once in his life, so that could possibly fuel the theory that he is multiple people or has several personalities. He has shown physically different characteristics on many occasions, which Oda is usually consistent with unless the scene isn't serious.

Read that as hasn't slept with his wife. Thought that was gonna be evidence of being unhinged.

He I think is the only one shown to have a sad childhood photo, which plays into the MPD/DID too. Maybe something extra f-ed up happened and he got multied.


When is he called "they"? Luffy says it's they at Jaya, but I always thought he just meant Blackbeard's crew was in waiting. If he meant Teach is multiple people in some way, it's weird he's never brought it up again and that nobody else brought it up, like Ace, WB, Marco, Admirals or Garp. You'd think someone else would be able to notice, if Luffy could tell before he even had much haki ability.

His face has appeared differently on many occasions. Marco also stressed that he wasn't like normal humans.

They're saying it's not just him there to talk to about sky island, but a whole crew in hiding. Luffy knows it's a crew and that he's probably the captain of the crew and thus a Pirate King rival, which is why his fists are clenched. Nami asks straight afterwards if he has a crew somewhere. The whole crew turns up very soon after that.

What Luffy said in Jaya could mean anything else like more crew members, but I'm not against the idea that Blackbeard may have multiple souls in him.

Maybe that's what his Jolly Roger represents with 3 heads.

I do think he could be something like multiple bodies too. I don't think you're meant to think that about the Jaya thing yet tho....like Oda wanted you to think it's just referring to his crew.

I saw the teeth stuff again and the stuff about being covered with a sheet while stealing WB's powers, which I forgot I'd read before. Although I think one alternative explanation for the sheet is that it's to enhance his darkness powers so that he can absorb the fruit.

Having multiple bodies somehow would explain him being so physically strong and able to handle huge damage.

His first fruit was Cerberus Zoan so he can grow two more heads in his hybrid. They used the sheet so nobody would see it.

that’s a pretty popular theory going around. Not saying I’m 100% in on that theory but I think it’s a better reason than having multiple personalities.
