That sounds like a inferiority statement to me. Baby is beyond matching Goku here, and IIRC he had the advantage as well.

But if Baby Vegeta were a league above Goku, "more than an even match" is not as good a description as saying "much stronger." More than an even match sounds like the gap is close with Baby Vegeta somewhat or slightly superior. I think they are rivals.
