Did Monet pass out from that? It could be Haoshoku, similarly to how Luffy displayed it before Sabaody. And considering Zoro's engagement with Kaku, it's clear that he had that aura since before the time-skip.

@ahill1 can you link that page in the manga? I'd definitely say it's only Busoshoku since Haoshoku coating clearly requires knowledge of Haoshoku. That looks more like an artistic effect as opposed to what we've seen in Wano. Not to mention others would have sensed that he was using Haoshoku this entire time.

@Future Warrior I think this proves that Oden didn't have Advanced Haoshoku. This looks identical to his clash with Kaido that I posted above.

But yeah, Kaido only seemed to remark some Haoshoku usage by Zoro in the Asura, so I guess it's only artistic effect, yeah.

What would you say it's the difference between Doflamingo and Luffy's Haoshoku clash in the image you posted to Kaido and Luffy's Haoshoku fight? The clash between Luffy and Doffy made it seem like Haoshoku had an affect in their hits with all the destruction and air current it caused (even throwing Law away).

Oh, and did Zoro coat his attack with Haoshoku, or was that similar to Luffy vs Doffy?

The difference is their bodies aren't being coated in it. They are still using Busoshoku Haki but the lighting produced by the clash is from the Haoshoku. I guess it's like their willpower is being added onto their attack, whereas against Kaido Luffy is literally infusing it into his body.

I mean, do you think Kaido didn't coat his club with CoC when he one-shotted Luffy?

The problem here is we don't see the actual attack. The club might not have hit Luffy physically but we have no way of knowing.

Makes sense. Did Zoro infuse Haoshoku into his Asura or was the Haoshoku usage similar to Luffy vs Doffy, in your opinion?

Because that's not a trait of advanced Haoshoku. Oda has purposely shown us that Advanced Haoshoku attacks don't physically hit the enemy. It was most recently shown with Big Mom vs Page 1.

Doubtful. I think the Haoshoku is what allowed there to be the illusion of there being 3 Zoros. That was the manifestation of the Haki.

Well, doesn't the level 2 also not make physical contact?

Definitely looks that way, but it doesn't seem consistent with every other example Oda has shown. As I said in my opening post, I won't make any assumptions yet. It might not be a requirement for the attack not to connect, but the overwhelming majority have been shown that way - especially when two Advanced Haoshoku users clash.

Not with weapons as I pointed out earlier. We see this with Oden and the Sabbards who all have level 2 Busoshoku.

@SuperSaiyan2

I'm wondering if this is a retcon or not. Pre-Wano we see that when Zoro uses Busoshoku Haki on his blades he turns everything black including the handles.

Same with Fujitora

After that it was suddenly that only the steel part of the blade was coated.

Just inconsistent from Oda most likely. Was the handle of the blade black when we first saw Busoshoku applied to swords?

I think that Zoro instance is the first time. I'm not sure if you want to count Yoru and Shisui.
