Do you think Bruce Lee could defeat top tiers UFC fighters? Would someone from heavy weight be too much for him?

Bruce's technique was out of this world. Think of it as Oberyn Martell vs The Mountain, he'd outspeed them easy but he'd have to be careful not to misstep too badly.

I like Bruce Lee but UFC fighters are grapplers & submission fighters, I think Bruce could & has a much better chance at 1 hit KO's but if he gets pinned I think he could be done.

He has the speed, skill, & power, to KO opponents quickly.

I know right.
It's kind of a perfect example for Button mashing vs Pre-Set combo strings lol.
I like Button Mashers.

I think he loses to everyone.

Especially Diego Lopes. He's the most exciting fighter RN. Pride never die.

Fuck off lol

Then the monk kills himself because the battle wiped out all humanity. Starting with ahill, because his dick exploded from the excessive blood pressure

Lol I was tripping when I made this thread. Illia Topuria defeats Bruce Lee in 2 minutes tops

Btw, Alex Pereira is likely the strongest fighter rn. I think only Ankalaev can win and that's against a under the weather Alex in a honestly speaking, still 50/50 fight (UD 4-1 was BS judging). Healthy and chama Alex I think can't be beaten by any fighter currently...

You're always tripping. And if you weren't I'd push you over anyway. Even better, ahill down a hill.

When you walk up a steep hill and others are like "oh god it's going to be difficult", do you say "don't worry about me climbing hills, actually they call me ahill". Gonna assume yes, u dork.

Dude Pantoja defeats Bruce Lee, barring the occasional lucky time for Bruce. Any top 20 fighter of any division does, if they take the path of least resistance and grapple him. Top 100 maybe. Imagine Bruce being leg kicked. I guess if it's fair he has a year to train, so could handle it better. But just actual Bruce as he was, I think he'd get fucked up so badly even on the feet.

Aspinall>Pereira if it's open weight. C'mon. I still have an interest in Khamzat vs Pereira. DDP also could be stronger, honestly. He looks goofy but he's extremely skilled and smart.

Nah. Pereira is a killer lol. Aspinall fought nowhere near the same level of competition Pereira did. Aspinall has had 2 fights against opponents who were never champions from November 2023 to now... Meanwhile, in the same time frame, Pereira:

—> Beat Jiri and got the second belt (Jiri a former UFC champion who had ever lost )m

—> Beat Hill (also a former champion who vacated the belt due to injury)

—> Beat Jiri on short notice, this time dominantly

—> Khalil Rountree, 2 months after fighting Jiri, also on short notice. Khalil as an elite Muay Thai fighter always looked up for a fight vs Pereira. Usman and Henry Cejudo had already highlighted Khalil as the best striker alongside Adesanya and Pereira...

—> the lost to Ankalaev in a close fight, where he had his hand broken and Norovirus (confirmed later officially)... And the fight was pretty close to the point half the media scored for Pereira

JJ had problems with Santos and Reyes who wouldn't be top LHWs nowadays... The fact he beat Gane so easily speaks more about HW being a whole tier behind LHW in competition. Alex, naturally weighs 240 pounds. He recently posted a picture weighing 242 pounds and was very fit, lean... And that's after assumedly having rematched Ankalaev already [which is being held for a trilogy] ... Alex said his focus is still on Ankalaev but it seems they both hinted at HW... Alex weighed 242 pounds and Ankalaev recently posted a video also showing that weight (240 pounds lol) and his promoter speaking about a super fight with Alex in October in Dubai...

Both Alex and Ankalaev are the future of LHWs... Meanwhile, top HWs tiers like Gane are below Jiri Prochazka as far as competition goes (Jon Jones recently in a score set, rated Cyril Gane as 8 and Hill as an 8, and rated Prochazka as an 8.5 in general danger)... The fact Alex Pereira is possibly the still top guy under right shape in LHW, in an era where Jiri Prochazka is legit a tougher match up under same weight than the #1 HW ranked Cyril Gane, tells the difference between both divisions. Just look at Topuria going to lightweight and KO'ing Charles in round 1... More often than not, whoever is the best or among the best in a division below, is going to be at least #1 contender in a division above if their weight translate well enough (DC when moving to HW, JJ too while Reyes and Santos gave him tough fights, Topuria's performance vs Charles, #2 from LW)... That's why JJ said he was worried about the Pereira fight and not the Tom fight. Not a bluff, but recognizing who's more of a challenger... Tom for example avoided building a fight with Pereira even though it's give him the most $ and is a bigger name than anyone in HW as Gane is the biggest name, someone JJ defeated in 3 minutes...

Kinda clear to see one avoiding the other (Tom) even tho it's make no sense not to want the fight when without JJ, that'd be the biggest name AND the most $ he'd make... And Ankalaev posted a video saying he's also HW weight and saying he wants Alex in October for his next fight, saying "I weigh the same and I can easily be HW. See you in October, Chama, don't be scared, homie" lol

And then Poatan when recently asked about the opponents he finds the toughest for him of all UFC... And he said with JJ retiring, it'd be Ankalaev or maybe DDP if DDP and him fought at LHW... He left Tom out, he said he finds Ankalaev a tougher fighter overall...

Aspinall is a HW dude, and moves like a lighter guy.

Frequency of fights is irrelevant to who's likely stronger. The reason aspinall hasn't fought more os because Jones was holding it up.

Poatan has little grappling, especially offensively. Similar to Gane there. Jones dominating Gane like that is because he has a huge hole in his game, rather than showing HW is super weak. But yeh HW is weak - so? If goku fights bulma and Krillin fights Yajirobe, goku is still stronger.

Not reading all that shit, after you already made every excuse in thr book for Jones for months.

Tom didn't avoid shit lmao. You're so clouded by who you like. Why would he build a fight with a guy in the division below him?

Nah, JJ was never a HW type of body. Poatan is natural at 243 pounds. That's the same as Stipe Miocic.

No it's not. It's relevant in regards to level of competition. Who has Aspinall faced? Volkov? Lost twice to Gane. Curtis Blaydes? Had been KO'd brutally by Ngannou twice.

No, he hasn't. Even with a broken hand and under the weather, he stuffed 12 takedowns from Ankalaev and made the fight basically 50/50... Ankalaev has wrestling from Dagestan... In takedown, he's obviously way better than Tom, who's instead a jiu jitsu guy like Charles Oliveira. A Topuria wrestler would be like Pereira in a sense. Good takedown defense, only difference is Topuria goes for takedown. Outside that, none. Curiously, Topuria took a picture with Alex Pereira together, saying "this will be out year again" lol ...

Just see, Alex Pereira fought Izzy and went 1-1 ... When on LHW, he beat Jiri Prochazka twice... Same Jiri who had destroyed Reyes, who was one of the toughest matches for JJ in LHW. Pereira is fitting way more in HW. If he has the weight, which he does (he's a HW, same weight as Stipe) and was doing so well against current era LHWs, he's likely to be on par if not slightly better than Tom. That's why Pereira is excited for the fight. Tom is avoiding while there would be no one else at HW that'd be a big name like Pereira.

Even Ankalaev has said "met chama in October" and posted himself weighing 110kg saying he can be easily HW too lol ... Basically, they're projecting a rematch in HW if Alex gets the title. Ankalaev said recently that in his opinion, Alex is different level from the HWs and he'd be the champion. Ngannou when asked recently said "Glover Teixeira said once to me that Alex would fight at HW. He'd definitely be successful there. Champion? Possibly. For how long? I don't know. But yeah, it's definitely possible for him to be a champion"

And when comparing prime Miocic to any fighter, Ngannou would always say "prime Miocic"... Even vs HW DC and Tom Aspinall without hesitance. When asked about Prime Miocic vs Pereira, he was like "tough one... I'd say prime Miocic yet, but I can be wrong, Alex can be better"...

Speed isn't the end all be all. Tom's blitzes aren't layered enough. He generally goes into linear blitzes with a predictable combo — jab jab, right cross, left hook ... And he goes into straight lines, which against a seasoned kickboxer, would be fatal as it leaves his chin wide open. Even before KO'ing Sergei, he punched like without even looking at Sergei and while he hit, he was hit in exchange by a left hook, though with not much potency... Alex called out Tom for UFC 300 main event. The UFC matchmakers considered it to the point they asked Tom, Tom said yes. And Alex kept his stance... But then Dana said he'd rather have Alex fighting in LHW otherwise people wouldn't understand if he got an interim third belt out of nothing...

Tom's takedown vs Arlovski isn't how seasoned wrestlers go for takedown unless they are totally desperately ... Seasoned wrestlers approach through close distance skipping from punches, like Ankalaev tried 12x vs Pereira ... Or how JJ managed to do vs Gane (slipping from a pinch and taking him down)... Tom went like a rugby player tacking Arlovski, which shows his takedown isn't nearly the same as whoever's base is wrestling rather than jiujitsu, like Ankalaev, Jon Jones... Tom is good to defend himself in the ground if he's taken down. For example, Charles' takedown isn't that good despite being elite in jiu jitsu... Now compared to Islam and Tsarukyan, he can defend himself if taken to the ground but Islam and Tsarukyan are way better at taking down. Same way Fabrício Werdum , one of the best jiu jitsu MMA fighters ever, wouldn't try takedowns... Not jiu jitsu 's main base. And when he'd try, his rate of success wouldn't be good.
