Classic Tsundere vs. Modern Tsundere. Which do you like better?

As we all know, the Tsundere archetype is a character (usually female) who acts rough but is a softie deep down. However, there are two known variations to it.

The Classic variation is (naturally) the original prototypical version and is quite different from how many know it now. The Classic variation initially shows a cold and even hostile attitude but shows their warmer side over tums. It was coined and popularized by Lum from Urusei Yatsura.

The Modern variation is by far the more well-known and widely-used variation of the archetype. They are much more wishy-washy with feelings fluctuating greatly between 'tsun' and 'dere' depending on the scenario, and tend to be in denial of their true feelings.

Idk if Bulma is a tsundere. Wasn't she quite friendly with Yamcha from the get go?

Taiga from Toradora was fucking dumb. Dropped the manga within a chapter or two. Belongs on the bonfire with Clannad.

How is Nami tsundere? She doesn't even have a love interest.

Classic tsunderes are almost always better written. Modern tsunderes are more like a caricature of BPD and they’re almost always written with the trope in mind first and the character second.

If anything, Bulma and Nami are modern tsunderes with the difference that they don't hude their true feelings... since generally the rough act doesn't come as a concern for "why is the like that?", that's just a style with the variation being when she's scared and trying to use her "beauty" to make someone do something fabourable.

Hancock (OP) would be more of a classic Tsundere if sh didn't turn into a gag in love with Luffy, if it were something more subtle, that she recognizes, but gradually change from the once cold, by Luffy's influence, not taking a 180 in terms of tension behind her hostile actions.

Casca would come to mind as a classic Tsundere considering her relationship towards Guts only, without Griffith in the picture, imo.

I think that KyouKai from Kingdom could be an example of a classic tsundere too.

Kagome is more of a tsundere than most of these characters.
