It only took 77 episodes for them to remember this was a thing. It actually could've been done way better in the Black arc. After one of Vegeta's numerous beatings, Bulma could've revealed she was pregnant. This prompted Vegeta to go to the RoSaT and train his ass off, explaining his absurd new strength. He could've used the motivation of a new addition to his family to muster up strength for the Galick Gun and allowing him to easily fuse with Goku rather than be a stubborn faggot like he was in Z.

I am more interested at how they explain why Bulma is suddenly 9 months pregnant.

I hope they give her pills or some shit to hurry up the pregnancy so they can get away with Bulma not having been visibly pregnant for close to a year which would only give them less time to avoid redesigning Goten and Trunks

I would think someone at Toei didn't want Future Trunks letting down his alternate self's sibling on top of his entire world, but we know too well by now that AT and Toei couldn't give two shits.
