Because that's Majin Boo's original form, the one Goku fought most intimately (all homo), and the only other one that's most well known aside from Fat Boo.

Remember when Super Boo was scared when Vegeta was about to remove Mr. Boo? He was really worried about being stronger than his former self. He couldn't allow any other power to be greater than his own. This was what he said to Gohan. Super Boo being the strongest was all that mattered. Since Kid Boo had a different personality and was a different form, Super Boo couldn't allow himself to be surpassed. Even if it means he would've surpassed himself.

I was referring to my first post in this thread.

Goku trained against Freeza, Cell and Boo (obviously just imagination) and simply recognised that Boo was the strongest villain at that point.

So yeah this in no way places Pure above Super.

Yes, Goku doesn't have to fight Boo to envision him, but it's always more effective to envision someone you know than someone you don't.
Even then, nowhere in that scene is even insinuated that Kid Bu is stronger than Super Bu, and if Goku envisioning Kid Bu means that he was stronger than Super Bu, then by that logic Freezer and Cell were also stronger than Super Bu because they were envisioned as well, weren't they?
