Did Toriyama ever mention if "Kakarot/Goku" could have had a different name when Dragonball was just a concept?

Sun-Wukong is still his name technically. Son-Goku is just Sun-Wukong in Japanese. There was an Osamu Tezuka manga called “Son-Goku, the Monkey” based on Journey to the West or some-thing before & also another anime called Goku no Dai-Bōken (Goku’s Great Adventure) also based on that before I think.
