Did Vegeta and Trunks master Super Saiyan?

I don't see any evidence the mastered SSJ form was ever used after the cell games to be honest. Sure we see the saiyans stay in SSJ longer, but as far as staying in the normal form to conserve energy in battle? Never mentioned again.

I fail to see any good reason Goku would forget his mastery of the form, which is why I support its continued existence. Plus... Gohan beat a few average Joes in SSJ without turning them to vegetables or anything.
