Do Concept Pictures Of Dragonball/Z Before It Became Official Exist?

Do concept pictures exist, or were there ever any concept pictures released by Toriyama before Dragonball became an actual reality?

I'm curious if draft work before the actual creation looked different.

I think I’ve seen concept art of Goku before, with much closer resemblance to a monkey just like Sun Wukong. After it started I don’t think AT ever had time to make concept work though. He’d pretty much make forms in the fly and make characters transform if he didn’t like it.

I remember seeing something like this years ago but nobody could confirm if it was official or just some jackass online.

It’s real. It was a proto-type/one-shot before DragonBall called Dragon-Boy to gauge reaction I believe. Published sometime in-between Dr. Slump & DragonBall (or maybe even while Dr. Slump was still running). One-Piece for example I think had 2 too before the real serialisation began.

A-lot of series do that.
