I still see them on the shelves at Target and Wal-Mart , in boxes and single packs, so I'm guess a market still exists. I'd reckon a to say they aren't played or collected so much as just bought as small gifts or stocking stuffers, or by very young children who just like the pictures.

I still have a collection of them but they are from years ago and haven't bought any in ages.

You're right about pre pandemic though. They were definitely starting to slow down a bit.

Looking at packs on eBay and Amazon and even boxes of the newest booster packs are still fetching good money.

I imagine people still collect Pokemon Cards, but I don't think anyone plays the card game anymore... LOL.

My Dad has a binder full of them.
