Do you think 13-year-old Future-Trunks is really lower than Normal Future Gohan as Super-Saiyan?

I don't think so. I'm S-H-C and that's my opinion.

To be honest, that was the opinion I always went with.

Here's my issue: why the fuck does Gohan think someone whom he can parry with one arm in Base has improved so much that he might leave him in the dust soon? I understand pep-talk, but damn. Trunks looked really tired, so an alternative is he wasn't accustomed to getting the most out of Super Saiyan just yet. Gohan wasn't that strong as a Super Saiyan, so naturally his Base wouldn't be much. Super Saiyan Trunks being weaker than his Base makes him literally a trash-tier Super Saiyan.

I guess one could say that Gohan started off in Super Saiyan and then went down to base when Trunks got too tired/drained, to add on to EV's explanation.

It'd shrink the gap, though it'd still be big so I don't know.

I just prefer to stay consistent in my logic that holding back during a sparring session is always noted so that I have an easier time arguing against Goten/Trunks nerfers.

That's possible. Trunks believing he's become strong enough to help Gohan just tells me he's not weaker than Base Gohan. It just wouldn't make sense.

That's possible. Trunks believing he's become strong enough to help Gohan just tells me he's not weaker than Base Gohan. It just wouldn't make sense.

One thing I do like about this, though is that there is none of that power-requirement or whatever to become Super-Saiyan that some people seem to say, and a Super-Saiyan doesn't necessarily have to be really strong just because he's a Super-Saiyan.

But this might also help my case of Super-Saiyan multipliers being non-sense.

Yup. It seems to be Trunks's low stamina that make him very weak shortly after being a SSJ. He definitely improves a whole lot as Gohan expected him to be. As he destroy Freeza and King Cold like a boss!
