I think I read it with power levels in mind since I started, which was why I found the Cell arc to be so underwhelming with Kamiccolo's blast in Gingertown getting compared to a volcanic eruption or island busting attacks scaring the cyborgs. But I still had some bias toward the kids when I made my first power level lists and liked to have Gohan "relaxed" against Goten and such. It was actually a while before I had them nearly equal

There was that theory that the kids were below 180,000 because Trunks struggled with 150x gravity too. Conveniently ignoring Vegeta sweating in that gravity despite going 2x it before he even went SSJ a decade ago, or Gohan saying it'll take him 20 minutes to reach Satan City (slower than Tao on a pillar).

The gravity argument is always a joy to hear. It also ignores the fact that Trunks ran rings around Vegeta once he transformed.

Same argument they use to nerf Pui-Pui. 1 1 1

I myself probably would have said the same Gohan not taking the fight seriously, when I was younger. It was just inconceivable how Goten could be so close to Gohan, despite not having done anything, but that's the Boo-Saga for you.

I think it was pretty pointless to argue about people being too strong without doing anything in that arc when Kaioshit was scared shitless of PuiPui despite freezing SSJ2 Gohan in the tournament and Babidi wondered how many hundreds of people Yamu and lord Spopovich took Gohan's energy from.

But the most ridiculous nerfing theory I heard was arguing Gotenks achieved a "pseudo-SSJ3" because it didn't have pupils and he never displayed SSJ2 2 :OP:

Even-though it's somewhat understandable when you only watched the anime, I think the ones that keep the thought even after having watched the anime are the real crazy-ones. (*cough* @Tosh *cough*)
