...there are too many people above Goku and Vegeta now? I don't know. I might actually think that, maybe. I mean there are so many: all the gods, all their attendants, grand-priest (i heard), zen-oh & even apparently potentially his guards (also potentially freeza still & goku-black). too many?

In DragonBall there was maybe one person every now and then that was above Goku and Goku was looking to surpass. Sometimes two or whatever, but never this outrageous amount. Like Goku currently has his goal set-on surpassing Bills, but what after that? There's still Whis and many dimensions above Whis is Zen-oh. Can he ever hope to catch-up by the time the series ends?

Also so many people being this high makes that level of power seem less special. Way less special.

I think it helps to lengthen the duration of the series to have many people far above Goku, that's what OP is doing after all with the four emperors and the admirals being above anything Luffy can handle or has beaten before. But it's a double edged sword because it destroys tension if they work too closely with Goku, which is probably what AT was thinking when he showed how unpredictable and uncaring Zeno was after they tried to use him.

Yeah, agreed. It probably does help the length, but they could also do it by showing one or two at a time instead of an entire universe of people.

It's kind-of ridiculous. Freeza on Namek would have never seemed special had there been a million people as high or above him at the time in the series. Bills doesn't even seem all that high anymore.

2 were fine. Even 4 were fine, but like 40 now? Too many. I like the direction in Goku didn't surpass the current strongest in the same Arc or next, so he could have a somewhat long time goal to reach, but it seems impossible to beat even Beerus now, let alone Zeno.

It also take away from any real dangerous as Goku or any of the Z Warriors could just bribe Beerus or Whis with food to help with or take care of the threat. Or just press the button to summon Zeno and let him deal with it.

Yeah, I do think the number of god tiers has gotten overly large, although in fairness the Hakaishins we've seen so far have been similar in power, so one could assume the angels are as well as Vados and Whis are. Surpassing either would essentially mean there's no one above Galu except Zeno and the priest so it's somewhat understandable that they'd hold that off.
