The anime has majin vegeta ssj being the greatest ki ever sensed according to 18, considering gohan was able to perceive it at long distance, this at least give us space to think of ssj majin vegeta > ssj broly

Then we get vegeta acknowledging how goku surpassed gohan when he was a kid, so the idea behind gohan (second coming) being ahead of himself when being a kid is very unlikely

goten is much more weaker than gohan in the anime than in the manga, as in the anime, he went sent flying back while in the manga, gohan was sweating blocking his attacks. Whatever powerful you think is the familiar kamehameha it'd be stronger in the manga, so there's no much to give credit for broly to losing against
