Is it possible for 22TB Roshi to be > Match level Goku? Roshi assumes he's weaker than Goku based on not even, but the speed Goku shows here is above even the one he used against Tenshinhan. In fact, Roshi doesn't have any trouble watching Goku vs Tenshinhan It was like some sort of super speed technique, and that doesn't really work into measuring power.

Roshi is definitely not as strong as Goku or Tenshinhan since the later still says he never thought someone could challenge him as much as Goku did, but based on Tenshinhan being intrigued by Roshi's power it seems like he was closer to Battle level Goku than Tournament level.

Why does Piccolo ask Gohan to come save him from Gero? Couldn't he just power up and break free on his own? He gets in the very same situation vs Cell and breaks out no problemo.

Maybe he can't power up while ki is being absorbed from his body. He was already close to full power against Cell so it didn't matter.

Goku comments "That guy treats Vegeta like a child" in chapter 45 of DBGT at minute 9:20. After watching Super # 17 defeat Majuub and then hit Base Vegeta.

Does it mean that Vegeta Base (S17) is stronger than Majuub (S17)?

If Piccolo didn’t quit his fight with Kaioshin out of power but of respect/fear of unknown then why does he tell Goku Kaioshin is stronger? Why not say something like “no… it’s not that” when Goku asks him?

Piccolo may have assumed Kaioshin was stronger going off the assumption that he was the Grand Kaioshin. Kaioshin's overall demeanor and his ability to read Piccolo's mind clearly messed with Piccolo mentally. It's very possible that Piccolo wasn't being accurate in his assumptions due to his mental state.

Yeah, Piccolo either told that as an excuse or believed Kaioshin to be stronger based on status. The later fits well with Gohan later thinking he needs to go Super Saiyan to fight Kibito. Everybody was thinking Shin and Kibito would be some formidable foes in the Budokai.

That's why I disguised myself, but...He doesn’t seem like an opponent that I can beat while suitably covering up [my true power].”

Gohan’s identity as the Great Saiyaman was already buster, so the only thing he had left to cover up was the Golden Warrior persona.
