Turns out it's developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear and Blazblue) who have made Dragon Ball Z games in the past which were Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors and Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden.

-It is a 2.5D fighting game
-It's coming out on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam
-It's 3v3 tag team gameplay like Marvel vs. Capcom

Why would you think that? The art style looks fantastic, it's being done by arc system works (the same team behind the awesome Guilty Gear Xrd), and looks like an actual competitive fighting game instead of the same 3D Arena shit we've been getting over and over.

The action seems awfully... side scroller like. I didn't think it would be for the PS4/X1 at first

Not really a fan of most 2D fighters, though the 2.5D does allow for the execution of important attacks to seem quite good. I'll probably buy it if the Story Mode has some whacky What If scenarios like the Supersonic Warriors games.

The Supersonic Warriors games were alright...

...Less for the gameplay and more due to how creative (or ridiculous) the alternate story modes were.

You get the good stuff such as Piccolo becoming maximum via Daimao fusion or Kuririn becoming the protector of Earth.

Then you have 3 Geros being the trump card against Gohan & Future Trunks after the death of Future Perfect Cell...

I'm actually quite excited for this game. Already looks better than Xenoverse 2 and it's only 20% finished.
