GT had creativity. Is was limited, but it was there.

What has Super given us? Drawn out retellings of things we've seen, ripoff character designs, stretching out a 3-minute battle into a thirty minute episode, vomit-inducing filler gag scenes, flanderized characters, terrifying off-model animation, (what I predict will be) a ripoff of the Namek Arc with the search for the giant Dragon Balls (or worse, a Black Star Balls ripoff), and motivation-less villains.

It's really shocking that in the age where Toei owns massive properties like One Piece, they manage to crank out episodes that look about on par with the worst that DBZ filler had to offer. DB Super was basically the most hyped thing ever, and we get this? DB Super is like Phantom Menace level disappointment.

But that's exactly what the fan base wanted. I mean BoG was released in 2013, and RoF in 2015, each of those came out AGES ago, we need to see them again in the new series to refresh our memories!

Filler is always the best part of the series. Fuck getting to the point, I want this anime to be extended as long as it possibly can be.

Terrible animation? It gives us something to laugh about. Funny anime = good anime.

Who do you think you are dissing the BS DB arc? That is historically renowned as one of the most influential arcs in all of anime. Future mangaka developed manga purely after watching those 20 episodes.

Not really good at comparing animation. But here's how the animation was in the last 3 DB series for episode 5. I think it's best to compare them like this since it's not as nitpicking and it's on EQUAL terms as all series were 5 episodes into the series.

Those were all nicely animated episodes (save maybe the first one, though it's from 30 years ago). Super is just a sorry-budget piece of tripe at the moment. (And probably until it ends.)

I understand cutting corners simply because the animation is so fast that it doesn't matter, but wow.

This isn't even bad in a amusing way like the shit you saw in Naruto, this is just sad.

Edit: Knowing the whole thing Japan has about honor, I refuse to believe the animators were able to sleep at night after having to turn this in within the deadline.
