Favorite Art Style

Berserk, Vagabond and Slam Dunk, Toriko, and even One Piece.

I used not to like One Piece's art, then I realized it's simply an acquired taste.

Non manga/anime, but anything drawn by Todd McFarlane. Specifically his work on Spider-Man and Spawn.

I quite enjoy Dragon Ball's art. I've only read Dragon Ball and Fullmetal Alchemist, however, so I don't have much to choose from.

I am a Hero's art is good. It's realistic which helps with being immersed into the world of the manga. I like Dorohedoro's art style too. Again!!'s art is quite good too I guess, not similar to the aforementioned manga though. I remember thinking the character's hands in Again!! were well drawn. Generally though can't say I pay much attention to art, unless it's too confusing (fuck Akaboshi btw; can't even tell if things are trees or people).


For fight scenes One Piece and then Dragon Ball for sure, since those are the only 2 which have manga fight scenes that I can actually understand 90%+ of the time. Other stuff like Claymore I'm reading it and just like "oh ok they're swinging swords about and it's going *clank*" which makes the fights less memorable and basically makes a bunch of pages into white noise I suppose you could say.

I'm sick of all this SAO/HxH style art that all those shows on Crunchyroll have. All the characters look the same.

Manga
Hunter x Hunter - The quality may be bad at times, but the style is incredible. Chrollo Lucifer's design is a standout; I don't know if I've ever seen such a striking character in any other manga.
Soul Eater - High detail, great aesthetics, surreal design, I love it.
Naruto - Some of the coolest looking explosions and attacks I've seen; Kishimoto is great at details. A lot Naruto's double pages are awesome. Character designs are so-so.

Anime
Attack on Titan - should be self-explanatory; amazing effects, smooth and impactful animation.
Sword Art Online - as noted, characters all look the same, but the animation is impressive and the backgrounds are very nice.

Not much else stands out in anime; FMA:B can be good, but it can also be mediocre.

I quite enjoy Dragon Ball's art. I've only read Dragon Ball and Fullmetal Alchemist, however, so I don't have much to choose from.

Both of them are solid artists. I have to agree. Them and the Inuyasha/Ranma manga artist are my favorites.

Arakawa (FMA) is probably my favourite of the artists I know about. I've seen other works that I like more, but I don't know/remember the artists. I mean... Kishimoto (Naruto) is pretty good I guess. I just like Arakawa's style more. Oh, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 for anime. Shit that show is pretty.

I don't partake in too much animangas, so I don't have really interesting answers.
