Mine would be Vegeta on Namek, taking a huge risk going against Freeza, without a single ally in the entire universe (even when he teamed up with the earthlings, they were just temporary allies who could turn on each other at any time). Obviously it was kind of his own fault he had no allies since he killed Nappa lol (I guess he never felt close to him, due to the age gap or just because Vegeta couldn't relate to Nappa's weakness and idiocy). He had plenty of chances to run away (after learning Freeza was there, when the dragon balls started going missing, after Zarbon, after Recoome) but never did. He hedged all bets on himself, although it ended up being a bad idea in the end.

Second is Gohan's Great Saiyaman/school life.
