Sure, that's why he tells Freeza to power up, not Cold. I'm sure Gohan filled him in on all the details. I think Goku vs Freeza/Cold was contested at full power for all parties. Freeza most likely wanted to save his full power for Goku and took Trunks lightly. He wouldn't have taken Goku lightly. Also, Goku would wait for him to power up and would deem his current power unworthy of battle.

Fair enough. But I still like the "ohh these are even stronger than the past villain... what? you weren't even using your full power?".

Yea I'm still going with that, I'm just saying Cold isn't nearly as helpful as 18 is going to be if needed.
