Future Trunks (Post Sword Z) is much more powerful than we thought.

I got to thinking that if Gohan was SSJ2 when he pulled out the Z Sword, that means that Future Trunks SSJ by the time he managed to pull out the Z Sword must be at least more powerful than SPC.

Later Future Trunks trained with the Z Sword and continued to strengthen.

In the Manga Future Trunks it was an SSJ against Dabura, until the latter by killing Kibito, caused the former to rage and unlock the SSJ2.

Then perhaps:

Gohan SSJ2 (Post Sword Z) = Future Trunks SSJ2 (Post Sword Z) >> Future Dabura >>>>> Gohan SSJ (Post Sword Z) = Future Trunks SSJ (Post Sword Z) >>>>> Gohan SSJ2 (Pre Sword Z) = Future Trunks SSJ (Pre Sword Z)> SPC.

Surely Future Trunks took a while to withdraw the Z-Sword and part of their training was to free it and then dominate it.

Assuming Gohan was a SS2 when pulling out the sword due to his strength shocking Kibito and Shin talking about how he didn't see how incredible Gohan was, I wouldn't say this necessarily proves the chain you mentioned. It would require assuming Trunks trained with the Z-Sword for a similar amount of time to Gohan or that Trunks pulled it out immediately upon starting his training under Shin and Kibito, all of which is purely speculative when we're given little timeframe on how long it took Trunks to remove the sword. If anything, assuming Shin wanted to test the sword against katchinko in a similar amount of time into the training in both timelines would go against that notion, considering Trunks also had enough time to be given Kaioshin apprentice status like Kibito that resulted in his healing.

I'd say the most evidence we can go on from comparisons is that Post-Z Sword Trunks is stronger than Boo Arc Goku in equal forms, with Future Dabura not needing to be any stronger than his main timeline self.

So, Gohan went SSJ when he pulled out the Sword Z?

It's likely he went SS2 when he pulled out the Z-Sword rather than SSJ in my opinion, but that still wouldn't have any bearing on Trunks' strength when the evidence points more to him pulling it out later than Gohan rather than around the same time he entered the Kaioshinkai.

But even so I see Future Trunks SSJ not far from Gohan SSJ2 (Pre Sword Z), since the latter had to try too hard to get it out. I don't think a much inferior character would have managed to withdraw it. For example, I don't see Krillin (TB21) escaping from Gilan's technique unless the former managed to strengthen himself while trying to get away from the technique.

Also Future Dabura did not seem like shooting material for Future Trunks SSJ2, as the latter received help from Shin to defeat Future Dabura in an instant.

Yeah, I wouldn't deny Trunks being on his level at the time, but I don't see him making the sizeable increase after drawing the sword out like Gohan did when he didn't seem to have pulled it out until later into his stay on the Kaioshinkai, particularly when the necessity to become far stronger was less severe with Boo having not been revived and Shin being unaware of Babidi having Dabura at the time.

Shin's involvement wouldn't really imply much, considering his main motivation was making sure Babidi was given no chance to escape, plus Dabura's magic can make him difficult to defeat regardless of his power. Trunks not oneshotting him brings up a decent point in that Dabura wasn't heavily damaged by his assault compared to him taking heavy injuries from a punch from Boo, which may suggest Future Dabura is indeed far above his main timeline self.

So would Future Dabura be in between Good Boo and Majin Vegeta SSJ2?

I'd say so, either slightly or decently above Vegeta, but still a good amount weaker than Good Boo.
