Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I also believe that it was said by someone that Vegetto ended up being stronger than a hypothetical Gogeta.

Heroes and WSJ are the only media that seem to favor Gogeta over Vegetto. All other media and guidebooks including the OG manga have Vegetto > Gogeta, other than that V-Jump entry that just wanked off Gogeta saying he was equal to Vegetto
