Goku had failed at the test to enter U6/U7 tournament?

I'm talking about the test Buu failed at and Goku barely passed. So, what if
Goku had failed too? Obviously, with only Piccolo and Vegeta fighting,
Universe 6 would have won. But, in what other ways would that change have
affected the plot?
Considering the tournament would have obviously ended earlier, does that
mean Zeno would have not arrived in time, so he wouldn't have befriended
Goku? Or did Zeno intend to show up at the end of the tournament anyway?
What about Zamasu? If he hadn't watched Goku fighting, would he have
remained calm? Is it possible he would have just gone for the body of
another fighter (Vegeta or Hit)? If he had taken Hit's body, i guess Z fighters
would have never found out about him, since he'd have done his stuff at
Universe 6. If he had taken Vegeta's body, then, assuming Goku did not
befriend Zeno at U6 tournament, the Zero Mortal Plan succeeds, since
Goku does not have the device that summons Zeno.
If things still come down to Tournament Of Power, i believe Z fighters do
not know of Hit's timeskip ability, since Goku didn't fight him at the
previous tournament. That probably gives Hit a huge advantage here,
and, most likely, Universe 7 gets erased, unless the winner of TOP is
generous enough to spend his wish to bring back the erased universes.

Assuming Beerus doesn't erase the main cast out of anger like Champa was going to, Universe 7 simply adapts to their new planet. I don't think Zamasu's story line would change, since if anything, being beat by someone too dumb to apply for the tournament would make him even more angry. Without the Zen-Oh button, Goku, Vegeta, Trunks and Mai eventually die against Merged Zamasu. Assuming he attempts to take down Universe 7's main timeline, Beerus and Whis stop him and Goku/Vegeta are revived. Manga-wise, the FT Arc simply doesn't occur due to Goku's fight with Hit being Zamasu's tipping point there.
As for the ToP, Goku wouldn't have the battle with hit to push his Kaioken to new levels anime-wise, nor the battle with Zamasu to prompt him to learn CSSB manga-wise. Even if he did for the latter, it'd occur far later than in the main timeline, too late for Vegeta to do the same. Without Goku having formed a friendship with Zen-Oh to bring the idea of the ToP to mind, Universe 7 is simply erased without warning at some point. Even if the ToP still happens, Goku and Vegeta being far weaker, combined with not knowing about Hit's abilities or being friendly at all with him would lead to Universe 11 winning.

Alternatively manga-wise, you could assume that Vegeta would take things a lot more seriously when he was the only fighter left. In that scenario, he may reluctantly let Piccolo have his victory against Frost until Piccolo loses to either Magetta or Hit. If the former, Vegeta may not bother wasting his stamina by teaching Cabba about SSB and simply save it to defeat Hit. That said, Zen-Oh may gain a liking for Vegeta rather than Goku. If so, I imagine that things in the Zamasu fight would go the same as in canon, seeing as how Vegeta would likely lie as Goku did and be given the Zen-Oh button, or Goku could still strike a friendship with Zen-Oh regardless. I imagine he'd at least become quick friends with the Zen-Ohs after bringing the Future Zen-Oh to the present one. That said, things remain the same as in the main series for the ToP.

1. That happened in the present timeline. In Zamasu's timeline, he did not fight Goku, he got angry by watching him on Godtube.
2. Wait, are you sure it was Goku who brought it up? I thought Zeno said something like 'let's do it next time with all universes
participating' and Goku got excited. Also, without TOP, i don't think Zeno would have ever thought of erasing the universes,
otherwise he'd have done it in Trunkses timeline too.

Debateable. It's highly likely the fight did occur and he simply didn't bother bringing it up. In the anime, it was the incentive of him searching for it on Godtube in the first place, so without the fight, he'd have no reason to further his ambition.

Zen-Oh forgot about it until Goku brought it up. The erasure would still occur without the ToP, seeing as with the Daishinkan making the announcement, he'd likely remind Zen-Oh about the plan to erase the lesser universes.

So, why didn't he erase Universe 7 in Trunkses timeline, which is much further in time?

When I mentioned erasure, I wasn't necessarily referring to at a point during Super's story. It's highly plausible that it wasn't scheduled for decades or centuries until Goku reminded Zen-Oh about the ToP. However, the fact remained it was still something that either Zen-Oh or the Daishinkan had in mind and seeing as how the current canon has no major events after those in Super aside from the 28th TB and maybe Toriyama's ideas for post-Z if you still treat DBO's lore as canon, then the eventual erasure of the universe at least warrants a mention.
