Guidelines for Tanking Gaps

Alright so based on much debate over the spacing issue in the early android saga we have been able to conclude that 19 Post vs Vegeta is about 60%. We can use that as the baseline from there...


1) 19 Post is 60% of Vegeta
2) Semi Cell is 60-65% of Vegeta
3) Cell is 50-55% of Gohan
4) Android 16 is 45-50% of Semi Cell


What does everyone think about this so far?

I would disagree with all of that.

19 Post being 50% of Vegeta and Semi Cell being 75% of Vegeta is clearly wrong. They show nearly the same exact tanking gap. No reason for their to be such a discrepancy in power there.

Also, the other two showed significantly superior tanks to what Vegeta did against 19. So no, definitely not.

I explained why 19/Vegeta is an enormous gap. Tanking feats are inconsistent and i can always argue Vegeta wasn't using
full power against Nineteen.

Piccolo threw 50% Freeza over the horizon, being more than 20x weaker. At many battles of equals, a fighter tanks a barrage
of hits without even bleeding (Goku vs Tenshinhan, Goku vs Piccolo etc). Tanks are inconsistent.
Most gaps at Androids arc can be decided from other factors. Ex. Vegeta/Nineteen is at least 2x because Vegeta had a lot of
energy absorbed and he still tooled Nineteen. SSJ2 Gohan/FP Cell is at least 2x, because Power Weighted Cell is a greater
boost than Buffed Cell, yet he was still a lot weaker than SSJ2 Gohan.

1) Piccolo never threw Freeza. He hit him with a surprise kick. Perhaps you don't understand how ki works. The actual body itself does not become impenetrable, the fighter's build up of ki is what makes them so strong. This is why we see ridiculously weaker fighters able to have surprise attacks on vastly superior fighters with great success. They might not do damage overall, but they can send them flying.

2) Tanking and taking hits are two different stories. A tank is when a superior fighter wishes to show his dominance over the weaker fighter, stands there and takes the punch or kick to it's fullest degree right on the chin. There are only a handful of tanks in the series, they are reasonably consistent and we would be foolish to not take note. To just do whatever the hell you want with any tank would be bringing us back to the dark ages before logic was used for these kinds of debates. So no.

3) You are not accounting for the damage 19 sustained from Vegeta. Another logic fail.

And what would be Vegeta SSJG2 vs Perfect Cell warming up gap? Perfect Cell's tank also seems to be a step above even kid Gohan SSJ2 and Perfect Cell.

3. Vegeta was holding back. The ki he was outputting at that time was not his full power, which explains both why he was
moved back by the hit and why he didn't one shot the Android.

4. USSJ Trunks was stated to be stronger than Initial Cell ''by a wide margin''. Buffed Cell was stronger than USSJ Trunks,
so that Buffed multiplier should be considerable. Power Weighted multiplier is even greater, considering how much more
Cell buffed, yet SSJ2 Gohan still tooled him. All in all, SSJ2 Gohan/Perfect Cell is an enormous gap. SSJ2 Gohan wasn't
at max chi output when he was fighting PC, he only exerted effort against SPC.

Goku vs Ginyus looks similar to 19 vs Vegeta imo. Pretty close. That's a good fight comparison to put up.

3) Nothing suggests Vegeta was holding back anymore than the other tanks. The point of the tank is to test yourself. You stand firm in the ground and see if you can their best punch. This ain't rocket science. If you got out of your house once in a while you'd understand this.

4) As far as I know, Buff Cell > Grade 3 Trunks is not something proven. But if you want to prove that, go for it. A Wide margin means cock. It could mean anything. You need to prove Power Weighted FP Cell is much larger than Power Weighted Base Cell. Also, you are not accounting for damage again...

5) None of the tanks are at max ki outputs, that's not how tanks work.

4. When Cell buffed, Piccolo said ''the complete Cell is beyond belief'' and ''Trunks is going to be killed''. Apart from that,
the general feeling i got from Cell's buffing was that he became stronger than Buffed Trunks.
Power Weighted Cell was a lot more buffed than Buffed Cell, so, the second time, his buffing had a greater multiplier.
