Really? Well, Gyumaoh seemed considerably stronger than [Hunt for the DBs] Goku, besides being a former Kame-Sen'nin's disciple. I'd say he ought to be considerably ahead [21st Budokai] Yamcha too.

Goku at the 21st is incomparably stronger than he was at the start. The fact that he had to tell Krillin to use a fraction of his power in the preliminaries tells us they made monumental gains. Gyumao might've been stronger then, but there's really nothing to prove that it's by such a significant amount.

Betting it on Gilan only because of the Guru Guru Gum. I think Gyumao was among the strongest men on earth and could beat all the other quarter finals losers of the 21st Budokai.

Gyumao ought to win. We're forced to draw from the anime in terms of his feats, in which he casually tanked BoDB Goku's attacks. I don't see Giran tanking Galu's hits to the same degree, or being able to endure multiple rifle shots as Anime Gyumao did. I doubt Guruguru Gum would help much due to Gyumao's size, seeing as how Giran would've tried increasing the amount after Goku broke out if he were capable of spamming it in greater amounts.
