Headcanon: Chronoa is actually Zeno's Kai counterpart.

Specifically this makes them not only Gods of Creation and Destruction respectively, but while Chronoa governs over timelines Zeno is in charge of the different dimensions. This makes Chronoa the Supreme Kai of Time while Zeno is the GoD of Space.

I think she's explicitly stated in Xenoverse to be the supreme kai of time. The old kai himself also treats her as an annoying brat and not as the equal of Zeno.

Yeah she works in the time department (As opposed to space like Zeno does), though I thought this would mean she’s at least as important as him. Maybe the Kaio-Kai-Supreme God tier also works for the time gods, and there could be a Zeno of time out there.

It'd be a nice idea when Chronoa's importance in existing for the DB Multiverse as a whole cannot be understated, though there are some problems with the theory. The most notable one that comes to mind is the lax security surrounding Chronoa when her life and Zen-Oh should be tied by what the theory dictates, yet neither Zen-Oh nor the Daishinkan nor the former's attendants provide any sort of guard to what'd be the perfect way to usurp the throne to the multiverse despite there clearly being threats that could put her life in danger such as Demigra, Towa and Mira (and far more dimensional travelling beings in Heroes material such as Mechikabura). Of course, that's for the meta reason of them not being thought up at the time, but not even some kind of throwaway excuse is given to plug this hole in the theory.
