How do you work 39 years for ages?

Bills is said to have awakened after 39 years. I also think the Planet was said to have been destroyed 39 years ago (I think), if that’s the case Goku would have to be 39 in Battle-of-Gods which’d be fine if it wasn’t for Pan about to being born (is that even a correct sentence)?

It can still kind-of barely fit, but it’s way too~oo close. By this logic, Videl’d be at the beginning (full 9 months) & Pan’d literally have to turn 5 a few days after end of DragonBall era. What’s the point of even saying Pan is 4 then? You might as-well say she’s 5, right?!

He the world was 23 years after Goku's birth vs Raditz, 24 vs Freeza, 25 returning to Earth, 28 vs Cell (just realised he and Chi Chi had Gohan really young: nearly immediately after marriage), 35 vs Buu, 45 vs Uub/EOZ (wtf. Interesting, never realised he was in his 40s. 40s are cool? Can be, I'm not feeling it tho)
So 39, then Pan would 6yo at EOZ.

"If it wasn't for Pan being about to be born" seems to be what makes sense without altering the sentence much...clunky though. I thought about this for a couple minutes....

Maybe it's a little later than 39 years. It's 39 years and 8 months but he said 39 years.

35 (going-on 36) in Boo-Saga, but considering Bulma’s birth-day & the fact Videl can tell Goku needs to be around or close to 40 (by just days maybe). It doesn’t really add-up.
