Tough to say. After 6 days, they seemed surprised at Vegeta dying by Freeza's hands and wondered whether Freeza was that strong, so they might be below 18,000... unless they had Intel on Vegeta's new strength.

I sometimes like to look at their strength proportional to their bigger gains compared to Goku's with Kami-sama and apply it here. For instance, they got around 4x bigger a boost than Goku under Popo and Kami-Sama, which could have happened here... with Ten Shin Han getting even bigger gains since he stayed there for double the amount Yamcha did. Something like:

Goku (post Kaio) 8,000
Yamcha (post Kaio) 100,000 [he was 1,480 before... giving him 4x more of a boost Goku got and applying that on top of his 1,480 BP leaves you there]

Tenshinhan (post Kaio-sama) 200,000 [that's more or less where he'd sit... granted that he stayed there for double the amount Yamcha did, but having only Chaozu as a training partner would soften his gains rate]

I'm not saying that comparing gains rate like this is consistent and a fact, but it's the only info I have.

Do you go by the guidebook's number of Kuririn being at 75,000 against Freeza? If so, he didn't appear to do too much training between that time and Freeza's arrival on Earth but he still had to be the strongest Earthling by that point.

I’m starting to think Kuririn could’ve only surpassed Tenshinhan after the 3 years of training. When Piccolo says the weaker folks shouldn’t come, he looks at Kuririn and Yamcha. Granted Tenshinhan probably trains harder and has a sparring partner in Chaozu, but Kuririn is more gifted and probably gains power easier thanks to Guru’s potential unlock.

Kaio was keeping the humans informed on what was going down on Namek, so they probably know Vegeta has powered up since Earth. They didn’t even get to see Vegeta’s true power back then… that’d mean they’re still below Nappa while Piccolo left the planet stronger than Ginyu. Even if Piccolo is more gifted than them, this is simply not possible. They were training together.

I’d say the Ginyu fight is a reliable way of measuring their powers. Pretty strong, but not quite as strong as Piccolo.

Yamcha
~ Post 6 days: 60,000
~ Revived: 300,000
~ Goku’s return: 300,000

Tenshinhan
~ Post 6 days: 90,000
~ Revived: 360,000
~ Goku’s return: 400,000

Chaozu
~ Post 6 days: 9,000
~ Revived: 180,000
~ Goku’s return: 200,000

Kuririn: 375,000

Kuririn doesn’t have to stay at 75k since Vegeta said their powers were growing.

To be fair, Piccolo doesn't necessarily have to be stronger than Ginyu. They mainly wished him back so that the Earth dragonballs would be revived and Piccolo going on suicide missions to protect Gohan is nothing new. Nail even said that Piccolo didn't stand a chance against 1st Form Freeza.

Also says who? You're the one arbitrarily assuming that training gains have to be around equal. Aren't you the one who believes in walls that can't easily be overcome? Maybe the humans were at their temporary wall while Piccolo clearly had a lot of latent potential untapped. Also the only glimpse of the training shows that they weren't all undergoing the same training. Yamcha was still unable to catch Bubbles.

Because he said he wanted to test himself as a warrior whether or not he died. He has a completely different mindset than Krillin and Yamcha. That doesn't mean he's stronger than Krillin.

When Piccolo states the weak ones shouldn't show up, we are cut to Yamcha and Kuririn. It's after that that Ten makes note of his desire as a warrior. His motivation isn't relevant... the way Kuririn and Yamcha are portrayed is.

You're ignoring that Tenshinhan literally just stated that he would be meeting them 3 years later prior to Piccolo saying that.

Piccolo holds Tien in pretty high regard. He's more of a seasoned warrior than the others.
Yamcha was whining about having to fight a few hrs ago and Krillin is...well, Krillin. I can see Piccolo having more confidence in Tien showing up and being ready to fight than the other two. We see how Tien was ready to square up alongside Goku and Piccolo when they were about to fight.

And yeah, like SSJ2 said, Tien already let it be known that he was ready. He just needed the time and place.

I don't think it's a stretch for Piccolo to have more faith in someone who's shown to be consistent over 2 guys who could easily cower out in an instant.

I don't mind using their filler strength of stronger than the Ginyus even if it doesn't make a lot of sense.

All jokes aside, by the end of the series, I think Yamcha, Krillin, and Tenshinhan all surpassed Initial True Form Freeza and even True Form Freeza when he picked up his speed. They should all be well below 100%, 70%, and 50% Freeza, however.

So, there's the old argument the humans always get more from their training than Goku because they're training as a group. Does this still hold any water here?
