How strong is Androids Saga Trunks?

I usually give him 1.2x-1.5x gains. I don't think it's that unreasonable, considering Half Saiyans' huge potential.

I don't see why he would be the same if he had three years (or only even eight months) to train. Why the heck would Trunks just sit on his butt and do nothing for all of that time? Was he just hoping that the androids would become nice and stop their evil ways? He should be marginally stronger at the very least.

I have him way stronger than he was in the Mecha saga. At the very least I'd have it:

Trunks (Mecha saga) : 200,000,000
Goku (Mecha saga) : 220,000,000
Piccolo (Androids saga) : 250,000,000
Trunks (Androids saga) : 300,000,000
Goku (Androids saga) : 330,000,000
Vegeta (Androids saga) : 340,000,000

Him being a half-breed may somewhat account for better gains too I suppose. The gap between pre first rosat Trunks and Vegeta is definitely bigger than post-rosat too.

Tenshinhan uses both Trunks and Vegeta as reference points as to how Goku would fare against the Androids, which he shouldn't have done if Trunks was far below Goku and Vegeta's level.

When was it stated that he thought he was useful? Also, he has the Shin Kikoho, which in fact did prove to be useful.

He's literally stated to be not that much different in power from goku or vegeta.

So I guess you say that goku and vegeta are never implied to have gotten stronger either.

There's nothing that says Trunks only spent 8 months in his own timeline when he went back for the first time. It's just said that's how long it takes to charge the machine. He could have spent 3 years.

And how strong is he? He's slightly below Goku and a bit ahead of Piccolo IMO. And Piccolo Androids saga can trash Yardrat Goku.

He's closer to Goku here than he was in the Mecha Freeza arc, i'd say. So Goku made huge gains and Trunks' were even bigger.

And the reason he made big gains, is because he went back and fought the Future Androids more times. This is absurdly intense training. Since the Future Androids are probably around as strong as SSJ Vegeta in the Android arc from the main timeline.

It has nothing to do with him being unreliable. Do you know the reason why he showed up? Because he wanted to see how he'd do in battle. Just look at the quotes:

Tien: "But I want to know just what I can do in battle. And if I die...then it was an honorable death."

That's the whole reason why Tien showed up in the first place. Not because he thought he was as strong as Super Saiyans. He just wanted to test himself in battle and was willing to risk his life doing it. This in no way takes away from his statements unless you're going to also say Krillin is unreliable as well.
