It’s mentioned by Gowasu and Goku that Zamasu is a pretty gifted Shinjin. Trunks’ future is like what, 17 years from the future? Depending on how serious he takes his training, it’s certainly possible for him to have powered up considerably. Add possibly sparring with Goku Black to that, and he’s easily God tier.

yeah that and his immortality that infinite power allows him to fight without getting tired getting hit and recovering allows him to master it strength wise he's comparable to super saiyan god tier
