How strong would Ultimate/Mystic Goten be?

Goten gets the same potential unlock as Gohan did in the Buu Arc. How strong would he get?

Some think he has more potential than Gohan because he went SSJ younger and easier than Gohan. I dunno though....

Plus the fact he and Trunks are lame gag/non important characters now in Super whom has shown virtually no improvement...

He would perhaps be a little stronger than Gohan I guess based on what we have to go by in Z.

Stronger than Gohan, though by how much is debatable. Could be anything from minimally to several times depending on how you intemperate his latent power.

That punk kid is nowhere on Gohan strength who trained with a Zword and gained enough power to close or surpass Goku in the same form. If Goten's potential will be unlock to beyond by Elder Kaioshin, I doubt that he can surpass SSjin3 Goku or Super Boo let alone Gohan who was stated to have the greatest potential ever.

Tough to say. I agree Goten overall has more potential, but it may take years years for it to fully reveal itself like it did with Gohan. Goten may end up weaker at his current age.

I don't think Goten has greater potential than Gohan, though I still think he'd far outstrip Goku. If I had to make an estimate I'd say Ultimate Goten could be around SS2 Gotenks post.

That's a poor comparison as it is shown that potential can grow over time. A better question would've been would pre-Z Sword Ultimate Gohan be weaker than or equal to post-Z Sword Ultimate Gohan? They both have the same potential, so they'd I don't see why the potential unlock ritual would yield different results for them.

Definitely agree with Mike. I'm not sure where the idea comes from that Goten could have more potential than Gohan. Gohan is way above everyone in the series, including the Hald half-Saiyans. That being said though Half-Saiyans > Full-Blooded Saiyans and something to do with generations, so Goten's (and Trunks') potential'd still be way above anything either Goku or Vegeta have. New stuff maybe not withstanding.

Yeah, out-of-universe I think you can just say that their fathers were already Super-Saiyans when they were conceived. I mean by DragonBall Super logic, someone as high as regular Vegeta (God-Tier) still can't go Super-Saiyan until the fight with him.

It's not just having SSJ, it's that Goten at 7 years old with minimal training is almost as powerful as post-Rosat Gohan who was 3 years older than him and had many years of serious training from Goku and Piccolo.

I don't about Goten's potential being less than that of Gohan's. Goten at 7 years of age with no vigorous training can make Gohan sweat who has gone through a shit ton. Even said he may surpass him if he's not careful. The way he achieved SS is probably a genetic thing, but his power is definitely potential based.

Boo arc Gohan is still at least 70% of his post-roast self imo, so Goten is less than 2x weaker than post-Roast Gohan. They may not be within rivaling range, but an extremely small gap considering how much more training Gohan had than Goten (along with being more physically mature)

not to mention, Goten's rate of improvement is considered impressive as well. Even with Videl interfering in his training, he progressed about as fast as Trunks who trained with Vegeta for the Budokai and had no interruptions.

Goten doesn't mind fighting either, though. Gohan is different to that. He doesn't like fighting that much, so maybe that might have a part in that.

Gohan may not like fighting, but he clearly trained very hard for Namek and the androids, not to mention with the Z sword. Goten literally just sparred with Trunks and learned basic martial arts from someone weaker than taopaipai and got to absurd levels of strength. Even Goku calls him an ultra-prodigy despite his older son surpassing him numerous times.
